At VSCD, Dr. Evelyn Galban
specializes in diagnosing and treating patients with problems
involving the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves, and muscles. Her completion
of a three year residency in the field allows her to provide up-to-date
information regarding disease processes, advanced diagnostics, and treatment
options for your pet with neurologic illness. Commonly treated conditions include:
- Seizures and idiopathic epilepsy
- Meningitis
- Head trauma
- Vestibular or balance problems
- Cancer of the brain or spinal cord
- Intervertebral disk disease and paralysis
- Neuromuscular weakness (i.e., Myasthenia gravis)
- Neuropathies and Myopathies
Through a systematic
neurologic examination, Dr. Galban localizes your pet’s condition. She
can then recommend the most appropriate advanced diagnostics (such as CT, MRI, spinal taps,
biopsies, and others) to help diagnose the problem. She will then provide you with the best treatment options for your companion. If surgery is recommended, Dr.
Galban will provide you with the necessary information to make an informed
decision. Dr. Galban works closely with other specialty services at VSCD and your veterinarian to achieve the most
complete care for your pet.
